Ed's Marketing Success Story
Mr. Ed wanted desperately to quit his full time job.
He was working hard labor 50+ hours per week and still practically
living pay check by pay check.
One day, as Ed was having lunch with an old buddy
at a local bar and grill, he heard a conversation taking place at
a table behind him. A man and a lady were discussing the large
profits that they were making from their web site promoting a specific
type of jewelry. A strange feeling came over Ed as he heard
the numbers they were mentioning. He couldn't help but turn
around to inquire upon the discussion they were having.
The couple gave Ed a lot of information about their
industry, products and the marketing methods they were using.
Something told Ed, this could be the solution he had been looking
for and he went home that night and began to research the possibilities.
It wasn't long before he found that he could get in
on this industry relatively inexpensively. The company that
he was most interested in, would even include a free web site to
promote the products!
Over the years, Ed had acquired a nice little savings
account in which he intended to use for a much wanted and needed
vacation to Florida someday. After some thought and consideration,
Ed decided to go for it. He would take a large portion of
his savings -- after all, he already knew the market was profitable.
When the profits started rolling in, he could quit his full time
job and spend the entire winter in Florida!
The day that Ed became the official owner of his brand
new web site, he was so excited that he took his family out to celebrate.
That night, he began exploring his marketing options.
Because he already used a large portion of his savings
just to tap into the industry, he had to be very careful how he
proceeded. The couple at the restaurant mentioned that they
used e-mail advertising that proved to be very successful.
Ed new that he couldn't afford the service that they
used but found many free options that fit right into his budget.
He spent eight full hours that night signing up for many services
that claimed to work. The next day, he found that his e-mail
inbox was FLOODED with hundreds of e-mail advertisements from other
businesses doing the same thing that he was. What Ed failed
to realize was that all of those free services he signed up for
was nothing more than authorizing a company to send him vast quantities
of junk mail that he had no use for. So many e-mails and not
a single sale or inquiry about HIS products.
The couple had also mentioned that a large portion
of their business came from major search engines. Ed set out
to find a company that would submit his web site to thousands of
search engines every month for a small monthly fee of only $49.95.
Though, he was hesitant of taking on a monthly payment, he knew
that he could cancel anytime. Anyway, it should work.
The couple had told him how much traffic they were receiving from
search engines. So, Ed signed up. And waited and waited
and waited. Nothing happened. He tried to contact the
company and found that there was not even an address or phone number
on the web site. He did some research and after 45 minutes
actually managed to get a phone number. When he called the
company, he was told that they only submit web sites -- it's up
to him to make sure that the site was optimized for top rankings.
Now, Ed sets out to find a company that will prepare
his web site for top rankings. He found services that charged
anywhere from $100.00 - $10,000! Ed was quickly learning that
you get what you pay for and was very leery of the inexpensive services.
From speaking to different SEO companies, he did learn
that it was going to be difficult to nearly impossible to
reach his search engine goals with the "affiliate" web
site that he acquired when signed up with the industry. He
also learned many other helpful hints and decided to set out on
his own. He signed up for some inexpensive online web design
course and the Search Engine Marketing Membership with Web Submission
Services.
Ed spent five hours a day creating his web site and
learning about SEO. Six months later, he had his own web site
that he had designed himself and was now starting to see some top
rankings and a few sales trickling in from time to time. He
sat back and waited but nothing really improved after that.
In fact, after a few months, his search engine rankings started
to fall. Although his SEO membership had expired, he thought
that he would try to give a call into WSS to see if he could get
any pointers.

and cooperated with every step that needed to be taken. Four
months after his site was submitted to the major search engines,
he had 82 #1 rankings and 117 top 10 rankings. An immense amount
of traffic flooded to his site and sales escalated.
One year later, Ed is still a long term client of
WSS, has long since paid off the loan, earned back his initial investment
and has built his savings up to way beyond what he could have ever
imagined he could save in only a years time. He is still at
his job but has cut back his hours to only 25 hours per week while
spending the rest of his days doing the things he loves best.
He hasn't spent that winter in Florida yet, but has experienced
two lovely vacations there -- and was even able to meet Dawn and
