E-mail Marketing Tips Provided By Internet Marketing Specialists

Using e-mail marketing to promote your web site is something that we all do every day.  Everything that you send out is going to leave a lasting impression to your readers.  Business on the Internet is not much different than doing business in the physical world, our first impression will always be the most important tag we can leave behind for our business. Make it count!  By conducting a successful e-mail campaign, you will be increasing the hits to your web site.  Many search engines are now placing a relevancy factor on the amount of traffic coming to a site each day.  Boosting your number of visitors may give you an added boost for higher rankings.

Everyone uses e-mail and using e-mail to market with is
becoming one of the hottest things in marketing today.
The Internet has changed drastically over the past couple
of years, and so have the rules for e-mail marketing.  There
are now effective ways to use e-mails in your marketing
campaign without spamming.  Opt-in mailing, choosing to
receive particular e-mails for specific interests, is a terrific
way to get the word out about your site to people who have
indicated an interest in the type of service you have to offer.  A good e-mail marketing campaign could generate a 15% click through rate!

How Do You Do This Without Spamming?

It is vital to your business that the person receiving your e-mail has an interest in your product.  Do not ever blindly send out your e-mails to a large group of people who are not expecting them, or you will accomplish only making a bad name for yourself as a spammer.  You may also be reported, and your Internet Service will have the option to remove you from their service.  Always use utilized, targeted opt-in e-mail lists.  In order to find the right opt-in list for your site, know what sort of visitors you are looking for, who they are and where they come from.

The Content Of Your E-mails

When coming up with the content for your e-mail marketing
campaign, keep in mind that most readers are looking for fast
information and a good opportunity, product or service. Quickly and effectively give quality information to your readers.  It is not important at this time that you try to sell them.  You want to create the need for them to have your product by supplying them with information that creates that need.  Be sure to list in the subject line something catchy (without using marketing hype) to encourage the reader to open the e-mail.

In marketing, writing skills are essential.  Some have it and some don’t.  If you are one who has it, take that skill and apply it to your marketing campaigns.  If you are not confident in your writing ability, be very cautious.  The last thing you want to do is to project the image as a beginner. Or even worse, a spammer.  When writing your e-mails or anything in type for your business, here are some common mistakes to look out for:

-Misspelled words: Spell-checker is an excellent tool as long as it is used correctly.  Spell checker is not a solution to properly proofing your document.  It is not going to find every error.
-Using the wrong word: Spell-checker won't check this for you.  It works by using a large data base of words.  If it does not recognize a word, it will flag it.  It can not tell you if a word is used correctly.  It is easy to over look a sentence that says: Visit my web sit!
-Grammar errors: A simple mistake in grammar can cause your readers to be confused by what you are trying to communicate and go else where.  Although the error may be a simple typo, it will appear that the person that wrote it is illiterate.  It will also indicate that the person is not detailed in checking their work.  This will leave a feeling of mistrust to hire you or invest money in your product.
-Punctuation errors: Watch your commas, periods, question marks and exclamation points. Too many commas indicate a run on sentence which can become confusing or boring.  Using a question mark instead of a period or vise versa, will cause your reader to go back and re-read the sentence thinking they read it wrong.  Using too many exclamation points can make your reader feel as though the information is being thrown at them. And of course, using no punctuation will be sure to flag the fact that your writing skills need help.
-Making vague statements: Be sure each statement is crystal clear.  You need your message to provide more answers than questions.  Perception is in the eye of the reader.  One reader may think you are referring to one topic, while another will think you are discussing something else.  It is extremely important to specify what you are referring to.
-Illogical statements: Be sure your message makes sense.
*Always have at least 1-2 people proof your document before promoting it.

Bulk E-mail Submitters

Now that you are set with your opt-in lists and the design of your e-mail, it is time to get them out to the public.  An effective marketing campaign will generate hundreds if not thousands of e-mails each month.  You could take the time to send them all out using your regular e-mail program, but who has the time for that?  Seek the assistance of a bulk e-mail submitter.

Tips

Any e-mail you send out should include a link to your site early in the message.  At the ending of your message, be sure to thank them for their time and business and ask for their feedback.  Always include a signature including your name, web site address, phone number and any other contact information. You may also want to consider adding an extra touch to your e-mails with creativity.
